A 33-year-old Memphis mother was arrested after allegedly leaving her children alone inside an apartment with drugs, cash and a firearm, police said.
Laquita Boyd, 33, of Memphis, was taken into custody on multiple felony charges, according to court documents.
Her children reportedly called 911 themselves and told emergency dispatchers that their mother was gone, police said.
When Memphis police arrived at the apartment, officers allegedly found no adults inside the residence. During a search of the home, investigators instead reported discovering drugs, cash and a firearm, police said.
Between the bathroom sink and the master bedroom floor, investigators reported finding seven bags of marijuana and an empty vodka bottle, according to police.

Matches, lighters and cash were also sitting on the floor where authorities said the children could reach them.
Inside an apartment closet, officers also reported finding an assault rifle alongside prescription pill bottles, police said.
Boyd was arrested and charged with aggravated child abuse, according to court records.
The mother was also charged with possession of a firearm during a dangerous felony, court records show.
The defendant faces an additional count of manufacturing or selling a controlled substance, according to court documents.
The defendant appeared in court the following morning, where her bond was set at $50,000.
