Allen Page is facing second-degree murder and other charges in Maricopa County following the death of his 84-year-old mother, Mary Elenz.

On Sept. 18, 2025, Page called for a hospice nurse to conduct an evaluation of Elenz, as reported by AZ Family.

Medical authorities arrived at the residence to carry out the assessment.

They discovered the octogenarian living in severe neglect.

Elenz was still alive when personnel arrived at the scene.

She was, however, entirely unresponsive.

According to court documents, medical personnel found her skin sealed onto soiled sheets.

Flies were circling around her body.

Maggots were infesting her bed sores and oozing out of open wounds.

The responding hospice nurse broke down crying while describing the conditions to authorities.

The nurse called the scene “the most horrific thing I’ve ever seen in my life,” according to court documents.

Emergency medical personnel immediately transported Elenz to the nearby Hospice of the Valley facility.

Attending doctors at the facility determined that she was also severely malnourished.

She died the next day, according to court papers.

The Maricopa County Office of the Medical Examiner performed an examination to determine how she died.

The medical examiner concluded that the cause of death was pneumonia complicated by skin wounds.

Neglect played a direct role in her death, the medical examiner determined.

Chandler Police Department investigators then conducted interviews with Page about his mother’s care.

According to records, Page gave inconsistent accounts regarding the care he provided to his mother.

His statements conflicted regarding the date a nurse had last visited the home.

He was also inconsistent regarding the frequency with which he cleaned and bathed her.

And records show Page was discovered sexting multiple people during his mother’s final days.

During that same timeframe, Page insisted to his friends that his mother was fine.

Police reported that Page had not worked since 2022.

Bank records revealed that he received a $1,600 deposit into his account each time his mother received a Social Security payment.

According to police, Page pocketed the money for himself instead of spending it on his mother’s care.

FOX10 Phoenix also reported on the inconsistencies investigators noted during interviews with Page.

But this was not the first time allegations regarding Elenz had reached authorities.

Documents show several abuse allegations against Elenz by Page dating back to 2019.

Those previous investigations were closed after the allegations could not be substantiated.

Page’s wife also provided statements to investigators regarding his behavior.

She described her husband as a compulsive liar.

She charged that he failed in his duty to keep his mother clean on a consistent basis.

She stated that he did not bathe her enough.

She stated that he did not change her diaper frequently enough.

Police arrested Page and booked him into jail.

He faces a count of second-degree murder.

He faces a count of intentional adult abuse.

He faces additional charges for the ownership of several guns.

He was legally prohibited from possessing firearms due to a prior conviction.

His bail was set at $1 million cash.

Page’s legal representation could not be reached for comment.

The charges are allegations and have not been proven in court.
