“I WAS JUST BEING STUPID”!!! BELIEVE IT OR NOT, POLICE SAY 22-YEAR-OLD UTAH STATE UNIVERSITY STUDENT NOLAN FORREST HOYT TOUCHED A SLEEPING WOMAN WITHOUT CONSENT AFTER HEARING HER SNORE… AND A JUDGE SENTENCED HIM TO 24 DAYS IN JAIL.

A 22-year-old Utah State University student has been sentenced after pleading guilty in connection with the sexual assault of another student.
Nolan Forrest Hoyt entered guilty pleas to misdemeanor counts of sexual battery and lewdness.
The incident occurred in March 2025 at Hoyt’s apartment, according to court records.
The victim told police she had fallen asleep at the residence.
She woke up during the night.
According to court documents, the woman discovered Hoyt touching her sexually without her consent.
Hoyt was touching himself at the same time, the records state.
The woman later confronted Hoyt during a recorded phone call.
Court documents state that Hoyt admitted touching her without consent during that conversation.
He blamed his actions on being “stupid.”
But investigators said his admissions went further during the investigation.
Police said Hoyt later acknowledged that he heard the woman snoring.
He admitted he touched her anyway, according to police.
Utah State University Police launched an investigation into the report.
In April 2025, authorities arrested Hoyt following that investigation.
He subsequently pleaded guilty to the misdemeanor charges.
On Aug. 19, a judge handed down the sentence against Hoyt.
The judge sentenced Hoyt to serve 24 days in the Cache County Jail.
And the court ordered 24 months of probation following his release.
He admitted he knew she was asleep.
He admitted she did not consent.
His sentence was 24 days in jail.
