Two men have been charged with sexual abuse alongside Ohio parents Elizabeth Siders and Gary Siders Jr.
One of the newly charged defendants has been identified as the uncle of the 16 children who were forced to live in squalid conditions.
On Friday, August 21, a jury in Vinton County indicted Josh Saunders and Brandon Henderson Sr. on sex abuse charges.
Both Saunders and Henderson were arrested in connection with the case.
Saunders is 23 years old.
Henderson is 40 years old.
The two men were indicted at the same time as Elizabeth Siders and Gary Siders.
Elizabeth Siders is 33 years old.
Gary Siders is 36 years old.
Both Elizabeth and Gary were also charged with child sexual abuse offences.
Henderson faces 21 charges related to endangering children.
Saunders faces three counts of rape.
Saunders has also been charged with one count of gross sexual imposition.
Authorities have not publicly identified the victims named in the charges against Saunders or Henderson.
But authorities have confirmed that the victims were minors, according to NBC4.
Public records indicate that Henderson is related to the Siders family.
According to NBC4, Henderson is the uncle of Elizabeth and Gary Jr.’s 16 children.
Henderson is related to the children through marriage.
He married Virginia, who is the sister of Gary Siders Jr.
Virginia was previously married to a man named Joshua D. Saunders, according to the outlet.
Joshua D. Saunders is 42 years old.
He has been in jail since 2009 following a conviction on murder charges.
It is not currently clear what relationship Virginia and Henderson have with the younger Josh Saunders.
On August 21, Elizabeth Siders and Gary Siders Jr. were indicted on charges of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor and sexual battery.
Those charges stem from the alleged mistreatment of a minor more than 10 years younger than the couple.
Prosecutors stated that the alleged abuse occurred between January and September 2022.
The victim in that matter has not been identified publicly.
And prosecutors said the minor was not a member of the Siders family.
A probe into child sex abuse allegations in December 2025 led to charges being filed against Saunders and Henderson.
Authorities also looked into the Siders family during the investigation.
That inquiry led officials to discover that the family was living in horrific conditions.
The household included Elizabeth and Gary Jr., their 16 children, and Gary Jr.’s parents.
The parents are Christina Siders and Gary Siders Sr.
On June 30, Elizabeth, Gary Jr., Christina, and Gary Sr. were arrested after authorities learned of the living conditions.
Christina Siders is 68 years old.
Gary Siders Sr. is 73 years old.
Then, the children were rescued from the home in Vinton County.
Elizabeth faces 19 counts of child endangerment.
Gary Jr. faces 19 counts of child endangerment.
Christina faces 19 counts of child endangerment.
Gary Sr. was charged with 17 counts of child endangerment.
All four of those defendants have pleaded not guilty.
The charges are allegations and have not been proven in court.
