“I WAS JUST FILMING HIM”!!! BELIEVE IT OR NOT, PROSECUTORS SAY A 28-YEAR-OLD ILLINOIS WOMAN AIDED THE SEXUAL ABUSE OF A DOG BY RECORDING HER BOYFRIEND COMMITTING THE ACT INSIDE HER HOME… AND SHE HAS NOW ENTERED A GUILTY PLEA TO A CLASS 4 FELONY CHARGE AHEAD OF SENTENCING.

Katelyn E. Heiden, 28, of Crystal Lake, entered an open guilty plea on Thursday in connection with the incident.
She pleaded guilty to sexual conduct with an animal, which is classified under state law as a Class 4 felony.
The charge does not allege that Heiden herself engaged in sexual contact with the dog.
Instead, prosecutors say she permitted and aided the abuse by recording it inside a residence under her control.
The alleged abuse occurred inside her home in Huntley, Illinois.
According to prosecutors, Heiden recorded her boyfriend engaging in sexual contact with the animal.
Authorities identified the boyfriend as Efin J. Nolte.
The criminal investigation began in July 2025.
At that time, Huntley police received a report concerning a video that depicted a man sexually abusing a dog.
Investigators subsequently determined that the video had been recorded in the village of Huntley.
Police then identified both Heiden and Nolte as suspects in the case.
As the probe continued, officers seized electronic devices for investigation.

Police then conducted forensic examinations on the seized hardware.
Prosecutors stated that the resulting digital evidence corroborated the allegations against them.
In November 2025, police arrested both Heiden and Nolte.
Following their arrests, both suspects were released from custody pending trial.
They were released because the felony charge was not considered a detainable offense under the Illinois Pretrial Fairness Act.
As a condition of her pretrial release, the court ordered Heiden to stay away from all domesticated animals.
The court also ordered her to submit to a sex-offender evaluation.
Then, Heiden entered an open guilty plea to the Class 4 felony charge.
Because the plea is open, there is no negotiated sentencing agreement between prosecutors and the defense.
The judge will decide the sentence.
Heiden is scheduled to appear in court for sentencing on Nov. 20.
Nolte’s criminal case remains pending.
The charges are allegations and have not been proven in court.
