“I AM GETTING OUT OF THIS HOSPITAL BED TO KEEP BURGLING HOMES”!!! BELIEVE IT OR NOT, POLICE SAY GEORGE DUNN FLED MEDICAL CARE WITH LIFE-THREATENING INJURIES TO CONTINUE A CRIME SPREE ACROSS KENT… AND HE HAS NOW BEEN SENTENCED TO MORE THAN SIX YEARS IN PRISON.
In the early hours of July 20, George Dunn crashed his car on Bayhall Road in Tunbridge Wells.
The 42-year-old struck a wall before colliding with a fence.
Dunn was driving while disqualified.
He was also driving without insurance.
The impact left him in a life-threatening condition.
Yet while trapped inside the wreckage, Dunn still attempted to flee the scene.
Paramedics transported him from the crash site to a hospital in London.
On September 1, Dunn discharged himself from the facility.
He left the hospital before he was medically fit to even be interviewed about the crash.
The following month, Dunn broke into a sixth home, targeting a property in Biddenden.
A neighbor witnessed him falling out of a window and called it in.
But that was not his first break-in.
Police said Dunn had also broken into five earlier properties across Kent.
Those earlier burglaries occurred in Tonbridge, Cranbrook, Paddock Wood, and Ashford.
During the spree, Dunn stole more than £3,000 worth of items.
The stolen property included jewelry, watches, and bank cards.
He even stole war medals from the homes.

Investigating officers uncovered physical evidence connecting Dunn to the scenes.
Police found a glove he had left behind at one property.
Traces of Dunn’s own blood were recovered at another location.
On October 15, Dunn was arrested.
Authorities charged him with six counts of burglary.
He was also charged with multiple traffic offenses.
And Dunn later admitted to eight further burglaries that police had been investigating.
Those additional eight burglaries were never brought as official charges.
Dunn pleaded guilty to six counts of burglary.
He also pleaded guilty to dangerous driving.
He pleaded guilty to driving while disqualified.
He pleaded guilty to driving without insurance.
At Maidstone Crown Court, Dunn was sentenced to more than six years in prison.
“Dunn is a prolific offender who was determined to continue committing these invasive crimes,” said Det Insp Lisa Featherstone of Kent Police.
“Not even a life changing injury deterred him, and he discharged himself from hospital to not only try and evade the consequences of his actions but to continue offending,” Featherstone said.
He left the hospital.
He returned to offending.
He was sent to prison.
