“I HAD TO PROTECT MY CHILDREN”!!! BELIEVE IT OR NOT, AUTHORITIES SAY DIMONE FLEMING KILLED HER TWO SONS AT A BRONX SHELTER IN 2022, AND A JUDGE HAS NOW FOUND HER NOT CRIMINALLY RESPONSIBLE DUE TO MENTAL ILLNESS.

Dimone Fleming, now 26, has been found not criminally responsible after killing her two young sons at a family shelter in the Bronx.
The tragedy took place at the family’s residence in late 2022.
On November 26, 2022, Fleming was 22 years old.
On that date, she allegedly stabbed both of her young children multiple times.
The victims were three-year-old Daishawn and 11-month-old Octavius.
Both boys were found dead inside a bathtub filled with water.
Fleming was initially charged with first-degree murder.
Under those charges, she faced the possibility of a lengthy prison sentence.
But during the court proceedings, several psychiatric evaluations examined her mental condition.
Those evaluations concluded that she was suffering from severe psychosis at the time of the killings.
Experts said she was completely disconnected from reality.

She was experiencing hallucinations.
Fleming also believed that the world was coming to an end.
She reportedly believed her children needed to be “purified” or protected from a threat she perceived as real.
Psychiatrists concluded that her mental illness prevented her from fully understanding the nature and consequences of her actions.
On August 24, 2026, a Bronx judge found Fleming not responsible for the killings because of mental disease or defect.
She was not sent to prison following the decision.
Yet the judicial ruling does not mean she has been released.
Fleming must now undergo further psychiatric evaluations.
Those assessments will determine whether she should remain in a psychiatric facility for months or potentially years.
Another hearing is scheduled for September to determine what happens next.
Two young boys lost their lives in the tragedy.
Four years later, the case has ended without a criminal conviction.
It concluded instead with a ruling based entirely on their mother’s mental state at the time of the killings.
