A Florida woman was arrested on battery charges roughly 20 minutes before a major fire broke out at a residence, authorities said.
Elyssa Rouse was taken into custody at a residence on North Atlantic Avenue in New Smyrna Beach, records show.
Law enforcement officers were initially called to the property to respond to a domestic dispute, police said.
Rouse was arrested at the scene following the alleged domestic altercation, authorities said.
The suspect faces charges of battery against a person 65 or older and battery against a law enforcement officer, according to records.
Approximately 20 minutes after that initial call, emergency crews were dispatched back to the property for a fire, officials said.

Firefighters arrived to find heavy flames coming through the roof of the large two-story house.
Crews managed to extinguish the blaze before it spread to neighboring properties. The residence sustained major damage in the fire, officials said.
Authorities have not said Rouse started the fire, and no arson charge has been announced based on currently available information.
Investigators have not yet announced what caused the blaze. Officials noted that the fire and the criminal charges should not be connected as fact while the cause remains unannounced.
