Patrick Clancy, whose ex-wife strangled their three kids before a deadlocked murder trial, breaks silence alongside his new wife

A Massachusetts father has agreed to speak publicly for the first time since a jury deadlocked in his ex-wife’s child murder trial, network television announced.

Patrick Clancy agreed to appear on camera alongside his new wife, Rachel Danis, following the mistrial of his former spouse Lindsay Clancy, network producers said.

The couple sat down with 60 Minutes for an interview scheduled to air on September 20, 2026, at 7 p.m. Eastern time, CBS announced.

The network initially revealed only Clancy’s participation in the broadcast, producers said. They later confirmed that Danis would also appear on camera, according to CBS.

Danis had remained out of the public eye throughout the case, network representatives said.

The sit-down marks the first time either Patrick or Danis has spoken publicly about the case since the mistrial was declared, network producers said.

Ahead of the broadcast, CBS Mornings shared a preview clip from the interview on September 17, 2026, the network announced.

In the teaser segment, Clancy spoke about his children, Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and Callan, 8 months, network footage showed.

“I talk to them,” he said.

When asked what he tells them, Patrick said he asks for help “all the time.”

The couple began dating in February 2024 following his divorce from his former wife, television reports showed.

They wed in April 2026, according to the network.

Patrick was a focal point of the criminal trial, testifying as the prosecution’s first witness, court records showed. Danis remained behind the scenes until the new interview, network producers said.

The criminal trial lasted nearly seven weeks in court, records showed. Jurors, however, deliberated for nearly seven days without reaching a unanimous verdict, according to trial proceedings.

“She killed the kids!” he yelled in the 911 call played for the jury during the trial.

Her defense team argued she was suffering from postpartum psychosis and bipolar disorder and could not distinguish right from wrong, court filings showed. Prosecutors countered that Lindsay understood what she was doing, according to trial arguments.

Defense attorneys maintained she should not be held criminally responsible for the slayings, according to trial records.

Patrick’s attorney David Meier issued a statement to CBS News following the mistrial, the network reported. The lawyer noted that the father remains thankful to the judicial panel, according to the network.

“Patrick Clancy is grateful to the Court and to the jurors for their hard work, their commitment and their perseverance,” Meier said.

“The loss of Patrick’s children is something from which he will never recover and from which there will never be closure,” Meier said.

Meier added, “The prospect of reliving this tragedy through another trial is extraordinarily painful — for Patrick, for his family and for all of us.”

Conspiracy theories about Patrick’s role in the children’s deaths spread across social media as the case drew national headlines, reports indicated. Patrick is expected to address the rumors directly during his television sit-down, network producers said.

During the interview, the father calls the claims “deeply harmful to the legacy of his children” and a “distraction to perinatal mental health,” network previews showed.

Ahead of the interview, Patrick’s attorney Howard Cooper issued a statement threatening legal action against those spreading false claims, CBS News reported.

“Over the past months, Patrick Clancy and his family have been subjected to a relentless, escalating and destructive defamation campaign,” Cooper said.

“This campaign of misinformation has been launched and promoted by minor celebrities, so-called influencers and outright conspiracy theorists who appear intent on boosting their own social media profiles and potential profit by publishing what they know to be outright falsehoods that Patrick was somehow involved in the death of his young children and other vile claims,” Cooper said.

Cooper said the allegations have created “real life threats to his reputation, livelihood, and life,” according to the statement.

The attorney said Patrick wants to focus on “preserving the memory of Cora, Dawson and Callan Clancy and supporting other women facing perinatal mental health challenges,” the statement said.

“This spread of blatant and baseless falsehoods must stop,” Cooper continued.

“Those responsible should understand that there will be consequences, and every appropriate measure will be pursued to hold them accountable, including legally. Law enforcement has been notified,” Cooper said.

The full interview will air on 60 Minutes on September 20, 2026, at 7 p.m. Eastern time, CBS announced.
