A 61-year-old North Carolina woman was jailed after officers raided a Reidsville motel room and allegedly found cocaine, police said.

Renda Rainey Riggins, 61, was arrested following the Thursday operation at a motel on Freeway Drive.
Members of the Reidsville Police Department’s Narcotics Unit executed the search warrant at Room 16 of the Royal Inn, police said.
Investigators searched the room and seized cocaine, according to the department. Officers also recovered drug paraphernalia at the scene, police said.
Riggins was taken into custody and charged with felony possession of cocaine alongside misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, police said.

The 61-year-old suspect was also charged with misdemeanor assault on a government official, according to police.
The list of allegations against the defendant expanded beyond the initial drug raid, police said.
Riggins was served with two separate criminal summonses following the motel arrest, authorities said. Those documents charged her with a second count of assault on a government official and injury to personal property, according to police.
Riggins was given a $10,000 secured bond following the arrest, according to police.
She is scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 29.
