A 27-year-old Los Angeles resident was arrested after federal agents raided a luxury high-rise apartment and seized narcotics, weapons and an alligator, according to court documents.
Marvin Angelito, 27, and Susan Gonzalez, 26, were believed to be living inside the 45th-floor unit at the Olympic + Hill luxury apartment building in downtown Los Angeles, the complaint states.
Federal authorities began investigating an alleged Los Angeles fentanyl trafficking ring during the summer of 2026, according to a federal criminal complaint.
A confidential source arranged to purchase 500,000 counterfeit M30 fentanyl pills for $125,000, investigators stated in the filing.
The transaction was arranged with alleged drug trafficker Anthony Rea, according to the complaint.
During a video call regarding the deal, Rea and an associate allegedly showed narcotics to the source and discussed a stash house inside the Olympic + Hill building, court records state. The associate allegedly described the location as “official” and referenced cartel activity there, according to investigators.
The controlled purchase was subsequently completed, investigators said. Surveillance teams then continued tracking activity connected to the apartment building, according to the complaint.
Authorities eventually linked Angelito and Gonzalez to the 45th-floor unit where the pair were believed to reside, court documents show.
On September 10, 2026, law enforcement personnel executed a search warrant at the luxury apartment at approximately 5:30 a.m., according to the filing.
Both Angelito and Gonzalez were reportedly asleep inside the residence when authorities entered, police said.
During the search, a police K-9 being used to locate hidden drug compartments became disoriented and began collapsing from what investigators believed was fentanyl exposure, officials said. The dog’s handler promptly administered Narcan, and the animal survived.

Inside the apartment, authorities seized approximately 93.9 pounds of fentanyl pills and powder, 15.9 pounds of cocaine and 2.2 pounds of heroin, according to prosecutors.
Investigators also recovered laboratory equipment including beakers, mixers, stirrers and torches, the complaint states.
A hydraulic press allegedly used in connection with drug production was also seized from the residence, according to court documents.
An AR-15 rifle and ammunition were discovered inside a hallway closet, the complaint states. A gold-plated Desert Eagle .50-caliber pistol and ammunition were allegedly sitting on the kitchen counter.
Authorities also seized an operable police radio from the high-rise home, investigators said.
Agents then discovered a small, live alligator being kept inside the apartment, court records show.
Personnel from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service were called to the residence and took custody of the animal, according to officials.
Angelito and Gonzalez were arrested on September 10 and charged with possession with intent to distribute fentanyl, prosecutors said.
At an initial court appearance on September 14, Angelito was ordered detained, court records show. Gonzalez was granted release on a $15,000 bond.
If convicted on the charge, both defendants face a statutory maximum sentence of life in federal prison, prosecutors said.
Neither defendant entered a plea during their initial court appearances, according to federal records.
Angelito is scheduled to be arraigned on October 2, 2026, while Gonzalez is scheduled for arraignment on October 9, 2026.
