An Ohio teenager was convicted on seven felony counts following a series of early-morning drive-by shootings, according to court records.
Jacob Bray, 19, is a resident of Sheffield Lake.
A Lorain County jury returned the guilty verdict on Sept. 3 following a four-day trial, records show.
On July 23, 2025, gunfire broke out across three separate occasions between approximately 3:25 and 5:35 a.m., police said.
Investigators determined an AR-15-style rifle and a 20-gauge shotgun were fired from a pickup truck, police said.
The shots were discharged along Brownhelm Station and Sunnyside roads, according to police.
One of the homes struck during the gunfire was occupied at the time. A round entered the residence and traveled directly over a bed while a victim was sleeping, police said.
Vermilion-area families were left so terrified by the shootings that some slept in their basements for days, police said. But no deaths were reported from the gunfire.

Detectives eventually pieced the case together using ballistics, surveillance footage, cellphone records, witness statements and license plate reader data, police said.
Search warrants were executed during the investigation, and officers recovered the firearms believed to have been involved, police said.
The defendant was convicted of felonious assault alongside improperly discharging a firearm into a habitation, court records show.
Jurors also found Bray guilty on three counts of discharging a firearm on or near prohibited premises, records show.
The panel further convicted the teenager on two counts of improperly handling firearms in a vehicle, records show.
Bray did not face convictions on every count presented at trial. Jurors acquitted the 19-year-old on two additional charges involving evidence tampering and allegedly furnishing a firearm to a minor, records show.
A juvenile suspect was also arrested in connection with the drive-by shootings, and that case remains pending, police said.
Sentencing for Bray was delayed because of a power outage, according to court records. The proceeding is now scheduled for Sept. 8.
