An 18-year-old Minnesota man forced a teenage girl into his SUV and strangled her after she tried to escape, according to court documents.

Preston Thomas Larson, 18, was charged Thursday in Clay County District Court following the alleged abduction, records show.
Larson faces two felony counts of kidnapping alongside one count of domestic assault by strangulation, according to prosecutors.
The complaint also charges him with interference with a 911 call and two misdemeanor counts of domestic assault, court records state.
The 17-year-old girl told investigators she was walking on Wednesday when Larson approached her in an SUV, police said.
Larson allegedly told the teenager to get inside the vehicle, according to the complaint.
She refused to enter. Larson then grabbed the 17-year-old and forced her into the vehicle against her will, authorities said.
The complaint alleges Larson subsequently drove the teenager to a park, where she attempted to get away.
Police say the girl was not allowed to leave. Larson allegedly dragged her back into the SUV and drove her to a second location, according to court records.
The teenager told investigators that Larson then removed her pants without her consent, the complaint states.

Larson also allegedly placed both hands around the girl’s neck during the encounter, police said.

Larson also took possession of the victim’s phone to prevent her from calling 911, the complaint alleges.
At some point during the ordeal, someone else noticed something was wrong, according to police.
A witness observed the girl inside the vehicle crying and appearing to plead for help, Hawley police said.
That witness contacted authorities, alerting law enforcement to the alleged kidnapping and domestic violence incident, court documents state.
Larson eventually drove the teenager away from the scene and dropped her off at school, police said.
Officers subsequently arrested Larson and booked him into the Clay County Jail, authorities said.
