Disturbing details emerge after disguised woman tries kidnapping 6-year-old girl at Manhattan subway station

On July 29, an attempted kidnapping occurred at an Upper Manhattan subway station, cops and law enforcement sources said.

The encounter took place around 12:30 p.m., according to police.

The location was the Inwood–207th Street station.

A six-year-old girl was there alongside her mother.

A woman approached the child and her mother from behind, police said.

Cops said the suspect was disguised in large sunglasses and a bucket hat.

The brazen would-be kidnapper snatched the young girl, police said.

Cops said the shades-wearing suspect tried to pull the six-year-old onto the train.

She attempted to bring the child directly onto the train, according to police.

But her plan was thwarted.

The girl’s shocked mother stepped in, law enforcement sources said.

Cops and sources said the woman gave up when the six-year-old’s mother stopped her.

Law enforcement sources said the would-be kidnapper only let up when the girl’s mother intervened.

Then the woman took off alone.

The would-be kidnapper fled on a southbound A train, according to law enforcement sources.

Emergency medical personnel responded to the station.

The girl was treated by responding EMS workers at the scene.

The still-at-large suspect fled on an A train, police said.

Yet more than two months later, the mystery woman remains on the loose, police said.

The NYPD released photos of the suspect captured near the station turnstiles.

In the images, the suspect is wearing dark shades and a light blue oversized hat.

She is also seen wearing a black-and-white patterned shirt and black pants, police said.

Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to contact the police.
