Disturbing allegations facing former Cornelia IT director Jeremy Dundore following GBI fraud investigation

A former City of Cornelia information technology director has been arrested following a state inquiry into city spending.

The arrest came after municipal officials flagged two purchases they considered suspicious.

City leaders then asked the Georgia Bureau of Investigation to step in and review the matters.

The former official has been identified as Jeremy Dundore.

Dundore previously served as the city’s IT director.

He was later identified in official city records as Cornelia’s chief information officer.

During his tenure, Dundore was responsible for city technology operations.

He had also been involved in multiple technology and cybersecurity projects for the municipality.

But the internal review of the flagged purchases led directly to criminal charges.

Dundore has been charged with forgery.

He also faces two counts of theft by deception.

Authorities have not yet released details regarding the two allegedly fraudulent transactions.

Officials have not stated what was purchased.

They have not disclosed how much money was involved.

And investigators have not explained how they believe the transactions were carried out.

Dundore is currently being held in custody.

He is housed in the Habersham County Detention Center.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is expected to release additional information as the investigation continues.

The charges are allegations and have not been proven in court.
