Robert Krieser is headed to state prison.
A jury found the 35-year-old Beloit man guilty of repeatedly sexually abusing a child.
The conviction occurred earlier this year on three separate sex crime charges.
Those criminal charges stemmed from abuse reported in 2025.
The case originally began inside a Beloit elementary school.
A fifth-grade girl told a school social worker that Krieser had repeatedly molested her.
Then investigators took over the report.
Authorities later interviewed the child at the YWCA Care House.

The case ultimately proceeded to a criminal trial.
Jurors weighed the testimony and found Krieser guilty of the abuse.
On Friday, Rock County Judge John Wood sentenced Krieser to 40 years.
The court ordered 25 years of that term to be served in prison.
And the remaining 15 years must be served under supervision.
But the total handed down was less than what the state had sought.
The 40-year sentence came in five years below what prosecutors had requested in the case.
A fifth-grader had to be the one to tell an adult what was happening.
Now Krieser will spend at least the next 25 years behind bars.
