Investigators with Roanoke Police iSTAR began reviewing license plate reader data.
The system helped investigators track down and locate the suspect vehicle connected to the incident.
And the data helped police identify an address associated with the vehicle.
Officers then traveled directly to that location.
When they arrived, officers found the vehicle.
They found Boyd at the location as well.
He was taken into custody by officers.
Boyd was formally charged with robbery.
The charges are allegations and have not been proven in court.
