“YOU CAN NEVER CATCH ME”!!! BELIEVE IT OR NOT, POLICE SAY A 20-YEAR-OLD NEBRASKA MAN HUNG OUT OF A MOVING CAR WINDOW TO SHOOT AT A TEENAGE GIRL’S VEHICLE AND FIRED INTO A BEDROOM WHERE A FAMILY SLEPT… AND HE HAS NOW BEEN SENTENCED TO UP TO 30 YEARS IN PRISON.

A 20-year-old Nebraska man has been sentenced to prison following a string of 2025 shooting incidents in Grand Island.
Kiyson Witte, of Grand Island, was sentenced to a term of 16 to 30 years in prison.
The sentence was handed down on Aug. 17.
His prison term follows convictions for attempted unlawful discharge of a firearm from or near a vehicle.
Witte was also convicted of attempted use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony.
In addition, he was convicted of third-degree assault on a peace officer.
The court also convicted him of criminal mischief.
Witte’s sentences will run concurrently.
That concurrent structure leaves him with a maximum term of 30 years.
The convictions follow a string of violent incidents that took place in 2025.
On Sept. 8, 2025, bullets struck a home in Grand Island.
Police identified Witte as a shooter in that incident.
One fired round traveled directly through an exterior wall of the house.
The bullet entered the master bedroom.
It passed directly above a bed where two adults and their child were sleeping.
Nearby residents also discovered bullet holes in their vehicles.
Officers investigating the scene recovered multiple shell casings from the street.
Then another shooting incident occurred later that same month.
On Sept. 28, 2025, a juvenile girl contacted police to report that she was being chased around Grand Island.
She told police that a blue Chevrolet Cruze was pursuing her vehicle.
During the pursuit, the girl saw Witte hanging out of the passenger-side window with a gun.
She then heard gunshots and saw a muzzle flash.
Police officers later located a fresh bullet hole in the rear bumper of her vehicle.
Officers recovered the bullet lodged inside the bumper.
And police gathered statements from other juveniles connected to the chase.
Two juvenile girls who had reportedly been inside the Cruze spoke with investigators.
Both girls told investigators that Witte was holding a black pistol.
They stated that he fired the weapon from the moving vehicle.
But Witte’s flight from authorities came to an end the following day.
On the day after the Sept. 28 shooting, officers were actively searching for Witte.
Police reportedly spotted him running from a concealed area near a tree line.
Officers then saw him jumping into a waiting vehicle.
He was arrested shortly afterward.
He was convicted on four charges.
He received his sentence.
He now faces up to three decades in prison.
