“THEY INVITED ME OVER”!!! BELIEVE IT OR NOT, PROSECUTORS SAY 27-YEAR-OLD DONNIE JONES JR. FORCED OPEN A WINDOW AND ATTACKED THREE WOMEN BEFORE BEING STRUCK WITH A GLASS BLENDER… AND HE IS NOW DETAINED IN THE WILL COUNTY JAIL ON TEN CHARGES.
On August 22, 2026, officers responded to the 200 block of South Hammes Avenue in Joliet, Illinois.
The response occurred at around 1:43 a.m.
A woman had called 911.
She reported that someone had broken into her home through a window.
Upon arrival, officers learned that three women inside the residence had allegedly been attacked.
The suspect was identified as Donnie Jones Jr.
Jones is 27 years old.
He is from Romeoville.
According to prosecutors, the three women had been sitting in the living room.
They had been watching television.
One of the women then began receiving several phone calls from Jones.
One of the women told investigators that she heard movement and noise near the front window.
She told investigators that she became frightened by the sounds.
Investigators also reviewed Ring doorbell footage from the residence.
The footage allegedly showed Jones arriving at the residence.
He was dressed in black.
The video allegedly showed him forcefully pulling the doorbell camera from its mount.
Then, authorities said, Jones allegedly forced the window open from outside.
He climbed into the living room.
Authorities said Jones immediately began striking the woman in the head.
He struck her with closed fists.
He pulled her hair during the assault.
The woman retreated to the kitchen.
She grabbed a glass blender.
She struck Jones in the face with it.
The blender shattered.
But prosecutors said Jones got back up.
He began attacking another woman.
That victim reportedly feared for her life.
She ran to hide in a downstairs bathroom.
Investigators said two of the women were Jones’ former girlfriends.
The third woman did not know him.

One victim suffered a red, swollen and bruised knot on the right side of her forehead.
She also suffered lacerations to both legs.
She reported having a headache.
She reported pain and bleeding.
She requested a medical evaluation from paramedics at the scene.
Inside the home, officers reportedly found droplets of what appeared to be blood in the kitchen.
They found droplets of what appeared to be blood in the living room.
Shattered glass was scattered across the floor.
Police located Jones nearby in the 300 block of Hammes Avenue.
He was sitting inside a Jeep SUV.
Jones had sustained physical injuries.
Because of injuries he sustained, Jones was transported to Ascension St. Joseph’s Hospital.
He was taken there for emergency treatment.
Authorities said Jones had visible bloody lacerations to his right ear.
He had a bloody laceration to the top of his head.
He had a bloody laceration to his left eyebrow.
At the hospital, Jones agreed to speak with investigators.
He gave his version of what happened.
According to prosecutors, Jones said one of the women was his former girlfriend of 13 years.
He said another was his current girlfriend.
He claimed he had an on-and-off relationship with both women.
Jones said they had called him throughout the night.
He said they allowed him to come over.
And Jones claimed the women attacked him.
He claimed they caused injuries to his face and head.
Jones was arrested on 10 charges.
The charges include home invasion.
They include criminal trespass.
He faces six counts of domestic battery.
He faces two counts of battery.
A judge ordered Jones detained in the Will County Jail.
The detention was ordered under Illinois’ SAFE-T Act.
The case remains pending.
The charges are allegations and have not been proven in court.
