Memphis Man Charged With Attempted Murder After Allegedly Running Over Girlfriend

Memphis Man Charged With Attempted Murder After Allegedly Running Over Girlfriend

On August 7, 2026, at around 4 p.m., police officers responded to the 3200 block of Allshore Street in Memphis, Tennessee.

The dispatch was in response to an armed-person call.

Upon arrival, officers found a woman lying in the roadway.

She had apparent abrasions and lacerations on multiple areas of her body.

The victim was transported to Regional One Health for medical treatment.

Investigators identified her boyfriend as 20-year-old Daiunique Carrick.

Details of the altercation were later detailed in an arrest affidavit.

According to the affidavit, the victim told police that she and Carrick had been arguing near the driver’s side of his vehicle.

The confrontation soon became physical.

Authorities said the victim eventually ended up inside the vehicle.

Inside the car, the two continued fighting.

The victim told investigators that Carrick dragged her out of the vehicle.

He then knocked her to the ground.

As she attempted to get back up, Carrick allegedly ran her over.

Police also spoke with an eyewitness who had been working nearby.

The witness stated that he saw the victim run toward a black vehicle and begin fighting with the driver.

According to the witness, the victim was pulled into the vehicle as the altercation continued.

And the witness later saw the victim pushed from the vehicle.

She then began walking away.

But investigators said the encounter did not end there.

Investigators said Carrick exited the vehicle.

He knocked the victim to the ground.

He returned to the vehicle.

He ran her over.

Then he fled the scene.

Carrick was later arrested.

Authorities charged him with criminal attempt to commit second-degree murder.

He was also charged with domestic assault.

His bond was set at $500,000.

The case against Carrick remains pending.

The charges are allegations and have not been proven in court.
