“GET IN THE CAR”!!! BELIEVE IT OR NOT, POLICE SAY 35-YEAR-OLD STEVEN HAMBY ASSAULTED A WOMAN AND FORCED HER INTO HIS VEHICLE IN CLOVIS, LEAVING HIM JAILED IN FRESNO COUNTY ON KIDNAPPING AND DOMESTIC VIOLENCE CHARGES.

A 35-year-old Clovis man is behind bars following an alleged abduction on Tuesday morning.
Multiple witnesses contacted law enforcement just before 8 a.m. near the intersection of Herndon and Fowler avenues.
According to Clovis Police, witnesses reported seeing a man assault a woman at the location.
The man then forced the victim into his car and left the area.
Authorities identified the suspect as 35-year-old Steven Hamby.
Detectives immediately began working to locate the fleeing vehicle.
Investigators used witness statements alongside law-enforcement technology to track the car.
And that tracking led officers out of Clovis and into the neighboring city of Fresno.
Then police successfully intercepted the vehicle in Fresno.
Officers found the woman still inside the car when they caught up with Hamby.
Police took Hamby into custody without incident.
The victim was found safe.
Hamby was transported and booked into the Fresno County Jail.
He was booked on charges including kidnapping, domestic violence and possession of a controlled substance.
His bail was established at $76,000.
But authorities said he is currently not eligible to bond out.
A probation violation is preventing his release.
The charges are allegations and have not been proven in court.
