“I AM ALREADY LOCKED AWAY FOREVER”!!! BELIEVE IT OR NOT, AUTHORITIES SAY A CONVICTED TRIPLE KILLER SERVING THREE LIFE SENTENCES WAS REMOVED FROM HIS CELL IN HANDCUFFS AFTER HIS CELLMATE WAS FOUND UNRESPONSIVE… AND INVESTIGATORS ARE NOW TREATING THE MAN’S DEATH AS A HOMICIDE.
On August 22, 2026, staff members at California State Prison in Lancaster, California, conducted a security check inside the facility.
The check occurred at approximately 1:45 a.m.
During the rounds, prison staff discovered an incarcerated man lying unresponsive inside his cell.
Staff members immediately initiated lifesaving measures to assist him.
They called 911.
Outside medical personnel responded to the facility.
At 2:17 a.m., outside medical personnel pronounced the incarcerated man dead.
The deceased man was identified as 32-year-old Francisco A. Perez.
Authorities said Perez’s cellmate, 45-year-old Juan R. Saucedo, was handcuffed and removed from the cell.
Saucedo was subsequently placed in restricted housing.
Prison investigators and the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office are investigating Perez’s death as a homicide.
But Perez had already been incarcerated for roughly a decade.
Perez had been incarcerated since 2016.
His term began after he received a 14-year sentence for assault with a deadly weapon as a second striker.
That sentence included enhancements for a prior serious felony conviction and for inflicting great bodily injury.
Perez also received an additional sentence for battery on emergency personnel.
While incarcerated, he received another sentence for resisting or deterring an officer with threat or violence.
And his cellmate was already serving multiple life sentences.
Saucedo was already serving life without the possibility of parole for a 2017 triple murder case.
On September 3, 2017, prosecutors said Saucedo got into an argument at a Culver City home.
The argument involved his 67-year-old father, Robert Saucedo, and his father’s girlfriend.
Authorities said Saucedo shot both individuals inside the home.
The gunfire killed his father.

The shooting severely injured the father’s girlfriend.
Saucedo then allegedly fled the home.
Prosecutors said Saucedo carjacked 27-year-old Jesus Estevez Martinez.
Prosecutors said Saucedo forced Martinez to drive him to Lennox.
Saucedo then fatally shot Martinez.
Authorities said Saucedo then entered another residence.
Inside that second residence, authorities said he fatally shot 47-year-old Arturo Canela Pulido.
Then the violence escalated further.
Saucedo reportedly shot into an occupied residence.
He shot another man while attempting another carjacking.
Law enforcement arrested Saucedo later that day.
Saucedo later pleaded no contest to murdering his father.
He pleaded no contest to attempting to kill his father’s girlfriend.
Saucedo also pleaded guilty to killing Martinez.
He pleaded guilty to killing Pulido.
He pleaded guilty to attempting to murder another man.
Saucedo admitted special-circumstance allegations involving multiple murders.
He also admitted special-circumstance allegations for murder committed during a carjacking and kidnapping.
In January 2020, Saucedo was sentenced to three life terms without the possibility of parole.
The court added an additional sentence of 175 years to life.
In 2023, while incarcerated, Saucedo received another four-year sentence for an in-prison offense of possession of a controlled substance.
Officials have not publicly released Perez’s cause of death.
Officials have also not said whether Saucedo has been formally charged in connection with Perez’s death.
The investigation remains ongoing.
